MARDI GRAS 2025
OUR COSTUMES
The Mystic Krewe of Oracles wears shiny and sparkly purple, green and gold clothing for the Mardi Gras Parade. Asheville Mardi Gras has an annual theme for Mardi Gras which can be incorporated into your costume. In an effort to be sustainable and cost effective, an outfit that can be used more than one year is encouraged. If your creative juices are overflowing and you have ideas for other magical costumes, just run it by Krewe Captains Elizabeth and Adam. It's best to dress in layers and wear comfortable shoes on parade day.
OUR PARADE THROWS
In the parade, we hand out 13 lucky hand decorated, recycled horseshoes. In folk magic, horseshoes hung above a door, stored in a desk or car are utilized for protection and prosperity. The throw was inspired by the highly sought after Muses shoe and Zulu coconut which are handed out in New Orleans.
